I was at a friends wedding last friday (working and partying) in Dunboyne Castle and found the venue really nice, every detail was looked after from the welcome from the manager to the room we stayed in. Food was excellent and the function room was set out perfect for 120.

Just thought I would give praise where praise is deserved.

work there regularly, I'll second your post.

Funnily given comments elsewhere, Knightsbrook would be one of the places Id speak highly of as well. :)

There is something about Knightsbrook that I cant put my finger on but I wouldnt be too keen on the place, it just seems like it trys too hard or everything is fake?

I made a list last year of top 20 venues if I like playing and i had it up there.

Ive never seen or heard of anything going wrong and Ive always found the staff to be nice, courteuous and on time with things and didnt hassle me (on music side) so I suppose can only give personal opinion on that one. Most places are like that, just staff doing their job like any other I suppose.

I wont mention them but will say the 2 places with consistently the worst staff, from management to barmen have to be in 2 of the more celebrious places on the market, 1 of which charges probably the most of any place. seen the manager having verbals with the groom one night trying to get him to people out so he could get a dance floor down. Absolutely unbelievable scenes.

Dunboyne is class for me though.
