My wife is away with work for 4 or 5 days in March and I was thinking of traveling somewhere in Ireland for the weekend. I'm in Dublin, but can drive anywhere really.

Anyone got any suggestions on where to go? I'll be going solo.

What sort of things are you into? Cities or fields, towns or rivers etc...? :)

Meant to say that! Fields and mountains and rivers and oceans. Have enough of the city during the week!

Donegal, Connemara, The Burren, Ring of Kerry.

Anywhere in the West pretty much!

West Cork and South Kerry are beautiful. Drove around some of the Ring of Beara yesterday and thought I was in heaven.

Might be a good time to visit the north east coast.

Killarney national park, climb a mountain, do some kayaking, rent a bike, plenty to occupy a couple of days there.

Seems to be the winner. Any recommendations on the kayak hire?

Killarney will be a good choice, won't be too quiet and you'll be able to hire a bike to go to quieter areas of the park.
