    Vidic?

Unless you mean best XI on paper, rather than this season.

How anyone would have Assou Ekotto over Enrique is beyond me tbh...

Well spurs have conceded just two more goals than Liverpool. Benny has a couple goals and a number of assists and he has the second highest number of completed and attempted passes second to only Modric at Spurs.

Plus he does things like flick the ball up to his head in the penalty box and head it into Friedels hands.

    Reina

    Walker
    Kompany
    Vidic
Cole (dipped but still the best in the league)

    Y.Toure
    Parker

    Silva
    Nani
    Rooney

    Van Persie

    Reina

    Walker

    Based on this seasons form

    I'd have Friedle in goals

Rooney out 4 Auegro (however its spelt)

    Blaine's 4 Ekotto

If everyone in the league was completely fit and ready to go I'd go with this. Ashley Cole could probably slot in there but he does seem to be on the slide a bit.

    Reina

    Sagna----Vidic---King----Enrique

    Fletcher

    Silva
    Toure
    Bale

    RVP---Rooney

    Friedel
    Walker-Kompany-Skrtel-Enrique
    Yaya Toure
    Valencia
    Cabaye
    Silva
    Rooney
    RVP

Aguero, Bale and Ba would lose out for me. I'm sure there will be many who wouldn't agree with Skrtel but for me he has been exceptional this season. Never would have thought I'd be even considering him for a EPL team six months ago. Whats with all those picking Vidic, he has been out all season. I'm a huge fan of the man but isn't this about this season?

Enrique, while decent defending, adds nothing going forward. Bae, baines and cole can defend and get assists/goals

Assou Ekotto is a good bit better going forward that Enrique, who is slightly better defensively although BAE has improved massively in that regard.

I'd take him over Enrique if given the choice tbh.

only liverpool players who would make it into these teams are skrtel and agger best centre back partnership in the prem IMO

To be fair look who Enrique has up ahead of him. There's nobody on that team scoring anything really.

He could put in 50 crosses and Carroll would probably miss most of them. Same with Suarez.

Which is technically a foul, is it not?

Yeah, but even if he did have quality ahead of him he still lacks the technique and crossing ability associated with a good attacking fullback.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's efficient going forward and superb defensively but Assou Ekotto offers more overall imo.

Is it I didn't know that?

Yeah, using a deliberate trick to attempt to circumvent the back-pass rule is an indirect free kick, regardless of whether the keeper actually touches the ball with his hands and is an automatic yellow card for unsporting behaviour.

    Richards--King--Kompany--Ekotto
    Parker

    Toure---Bale

    Van Persie-Aguero

    Edit.. So... basically City + Spurs + V.Persie = #winning !

If someone were to pick such a team and Koscielny wasn't in it I would think it were idiocy of highest order.
