LOL! :p Thanks James but as I'm sure your more then aware it's not quiet the same eh!

Actually on the subject of youtube, have they got rid of the playlists?

No, I've been playlisting music on YouTube for years now. It's still good.

Yeah, it's not the same, but the only service that i actually expect to remain free and for that reason, the only one worth putting the effort of making playlists on. They continually defend themselves on DMCA grounds and win, and they're all about monitising the service outside of subscriptions.

I've been using Grooveshark for a while. It's less data to download when you just want to listen to a song, and when I saw today the charging pop-up that's when i found this post. It sucks, but the way of the world. They got stung with a few lawsuits recently and it's not looking too well for them at the moment. Unless they settle and sell up their business to the record companies, they'll go out of business I'd think.

As for alternatives I'm not too up on those to be fair. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.

Good, because from what I can see it's still free?
    From http://grooveshark.com/#/settings/subscriptions
While Grooveshark is awesome and free, make it even better with Grooveshark Plus or Grooveshark Anywhere.
I'm listening to a little Girl Talk as I type.

Keep the posts coming folks! All feedback welcome.

And again I'm / were really looking for something that one can store an online music library. Grooveshark was fantastic for this! And yes Pman if you subscribe it will continue to be fantastic and even better but many of us don't have the extra cash and many of us don't use credit cards etc.

So keep the ideas and links coming! Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

You don't need to subscribe, it's still free. I have not paid for it and am still using it.

    Am I missing something here?

im using an extension for firefox called "Make groove shark free 0.2" which i got through greasemonkey. it gets rid of the pay screen but when it goes on to the next song it just pauses and you have to click play to start the music again.

anybody know how to edit the script to get around this? thanks

Condi, can you try accessing the site with a TOR router (or similar) and see if that works?

Are they really not introducing fees in other markets?

Thanks Condi. Will try a few things.

First up: I just tried the Groveshark Unlocker 1.2 firefox addon. Didn't work. Pop up came up again after playing about 4 songs. Locks me out until i refresh and start again with playlists etc.. and locks out again with pop up after 4 songs. Gonna bin this addon.

If you already have a decent collection then just use Google Music. The region rules are easily bypassed(I happen to have been in the states when I registered) and then you just give it a day or two to snatch all your tunes. Works on droid and any computer with a browser.

Just testing how "Tinyshark" is performing right now. It still plays anyways. Will see if it cops out after a few tracks.
