Hard disk Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 Worth anything?

    Got a Multimedia Hard disk tb for christmas and the dreadful "click of death" happened? The caddy fine but the hard disk not working! Is it worthless now?:mad:

    Buy another drive and stick it in the caddy :)

    Hard drives are very expensive at the moment due to floods in Thailand

    The caddy itself is worth very little...

    Ya i going doing that any opinion on what hard drive to get...??? It Doesn't have to be a tb... Will any sata drive fit?.... and is the broken hard drive worth noting now...

    If you're sure that you can't return the entire lot, then perhaps you can try returning just the drive by providing the drive's serial number into Seagate's RMA procedure on their website.

    Any replacement Sata drive will usually work in an enclosure like this. Seagate backup software supplied with the drive on the other hand might detect and reject a non-seagate drive. Or might not.
