You're doing it wrong, you're supposed to get heavily involved with heroin now.

I've never really liked it, so I don't know. But I have given up other non-addictive chemicals because they got a little boring (or didn't retain their same effects). I don't see why it shouldn't be possible with weed.

it was not as a result of age as it happened when i was nineteen, but i was smoking heavily pretty much every day, and i stopped cos it was pretty crap,

i found it quite easy to do, cos i wasnt quitting in spite of my desire to do it, but more because of the lack of desire if ya get me.

Gave it up a few years back. Used to love smoking hash but it does get boring after a while.

I go through spells of given it up for a week or two every so often. Sometimes a month. You need a break from it now and again. Your love for it will be reinvented after a few weeks away from it.

Will never give it up but I wont wear it like it's my religion either. recommended to keep it til the hours preceeding bed.. Then it becomes something to look forward to and actually has an effect other than just becoming like a regular smoke

I gave it up when I moved to Oz, life was no longer boring enough to rely on it as it was back home. Plus the smoke here just knocks you on your arse, not like back home where you could smoke a spliff or two before heading out drinking.

re the age thing I had a 30- year old Dutch mate back home and I was a bit suprised when he told me he hadnt been in a coffee shop in about 8 years (I was 20, back then if we had coffee shops in Ireland we would have been in them all day after work). He said that while he might have a toke at a party if it was going around, in Holland socially people over their early 20s who still smoke on a daily basis are often viewed as wasters who are going nowhere in life, they get the same view as Irish lads who cant get home from work without stopping for 9 pints every night.

    FFS!

Jump off the nearest steep ledge will ya?

I haven't smoked the stuff in 12 years but I can't relate to what you are saying at all.

What? Im just saying that is the general public attitude in Holland. That you wont find many doctors and academics in the Bulldog on a Friday night. The strength of the weed in Australia makes it a pretty anti social drug anyway.

Cant deny i did that seemingly adolescent now, thing where it just became like a regular roll up in more ways than one and i started collecting old roots reggae n dub n all that.. Wanting to be seen smoking it where its opposite now. it's alright if in 70s Kingston but the weight of the day.. Literally; a lot lighter on my feet now as I stave off about 20hr from 24. n probs that bit sharper upstairs too.. 'round midnight! reefer time.

for me its like weed is for cats n booze is for dogs. I wouldn't take the cat outside, tends to be uncomfortable n paranoid and wanting back but then the dog just thrashes the house and needs to stay the f outside. I'll drink socially, any hour and the net result is likely worse :/ still, least I'm not introverted when out. And vice verse

I gave it up after about a year of smoking it on and off. Never found it that great, to be honest. I feel like anyone who smokes weed becomes infinitely more boring themselves.

I spent one summer where that was pretty much all I did, but once September came around that was it, I have smoked maybe a handful of times since, I don't miss it. I know people who smoke every day, it's sad tbh, they are stuck in a rut. I couldn't do it everyday, it should only be done every once and a while to preserve the specialness. Other than that it just becomes dull.

Yes i have. Not not because it was boring but for medical reasons instead. Have never ever felt better and i will not smoke again. One of the best decisions i have ever made in my life.

I used to smoke quite a bit of it but know I'm literally not able to. A few tokes and I'm gone, can't think, can't interact with my senses, I get Sensory Overload or it exacerbates my possible Sensory Processing Disorder or Sensory Integration Dysfunction.

I'm pretty bad even when I'm not smoking it but when under it's influence I literally can't process information or react to stimuli. I am extremely paranoid when smoking it, and usually always end up having panic attacks. Even though I'm pretty paranoid without it I find it exacerbates my paranoia. I don't smoke now and I am resolved never to smoke it again.

Sad thing is I was like this for ages yet I kept smoking it even when I hated it. But I couldn't stop. Cessation is difficult, you can become addicted to marijuana, and you'll experience fairly uncomfortable withdrawal effects like insomnia, irritability, loss of appetite, nausea, anxiety and even aggression.

Marijuana is grand in moderation but heavy use can have devastating effects.

If you are quitting good luck, try and keep yourself busy and eat right and go to bed early. Exercise is good as well. Eat chocolate too if you're feeling anxious or irritable, it will calm you down but stay away from other foods high in sugar or caffeine. Best of luck.

I'm trying to replace my cigarette habit with weed, I see it as a therapeutical endeavour for my future dealings with the legally ignorant.

In fairness you won't find many in The Bulldog who aren't London wide boys on a stag night.
