    Yes.

Pistol grips, folding stocks, etc only apply to shotguns as per SI 21/2008

im sure if you met a check point and they seen it and checked the serial number they would have no problem, sure half the guards havent a clue about firearms and if you haVE a licence then all is grand, sure they wont know what stock was on it when it was licenced

To be pedantic if a Garda seen the rifle while you where stoped at a check point the stock may be the least of your worries as the rifle should be in a secure case, and not accessible by the dirver or any passengers.

There is no need for "secrets" or anything like that. As said above the features on the rifle stock are not an issue only if they were on a shotgun would it be an issue. If on a shotgun the "i don't like the look of that" again would be the least of your worries as these features make the shotgun a restricted one, and if your license said unrestricted you "could" be done for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

I taught that was only guidelines and not the law?

so the ;i dont like the look of that;doesent apply to a rifle, well why then does it say in the garda firearms licencing of rifles thing that a assault rifle or one that resembles one cannot be licenced as unrestricted.i dunno about you but that rifle will kinda resemble an assault rifle

The AR stock for them is sweet! Think the first one you put up was nicer tho.

Does the 2nd one have a cheek peice on both sides?

Not quite, Ez pointed out there are specific rules for shotguns which don't exist for rifles. Folding stock etc etc

A rifle can fall foul of the "I don't like the look of that" rule.

A lot of places are very cagey about exporting anything that could be construed as having a military application.
ie a simple scope with mil dots...
You may argue that a 10-22 stock has no military use, but chances are the seller wont export just to be sure (heck I've heard that the IDF use moderated 10-22s to kill guard dogs prior to sending in the assault team)

A friend of mine in LA makes these

I asked him if I could take a few back to Ireland with me (figuring some of you guys would like one), he told me that the state dept said no previously when asked if it was OK to mail to Canada, so Ireland was a no-go.

Maybe I should manufacture some locally in Ireland, I imagine there would be a fair sized market in Europe for them!

I noticed my walnut stock on the 10/22 had taken a couple of knocks lately so swoped it for the butler creek folding barrell bought through a local gun dealer for €120. I would class myself as an old grumpy traditionalist but have to say I am well impressed. The stock is floating lovely and the accuracy is quite good.

I apologise to anyone who had a folding stock and I slagged or derided in the past:o, I am as Saul on the road to Damascus:)

Depends on what capacity.Anything above 10 rounds wont happen, for anything. But normal 10/22 10 shot mags should be no problem.
I checked this with Brownells.com, who have all the export restrictions on their site, and on their product listing before ordering a spare mag recently.

cz mags cost 6e for 5rd and 8e for 10rd plastic ones, thats to buy straight from the cz website,so they must be cheaper when a shop buys them, yet go in anyshop here you will be asked anywhere between 30e-50e for them.thats a serious mark up

    Was for a .308/.243 mag not a 10 /22:( But that was $20 [+/-17 euro]

However a look at Ebay.com http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ruger-10-22-10-22-10-22-magazine-clip-10-round-Factory-NEW-Stock-90005R-/390392441623?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae533eb17 has them at $13USD!
Ebay must have changed its firearms selling policy ,as there gun bits a plenty for sale there nowadays.
