there is a station not to far from me sells biodiesel, a couple people I know use it only only it with no problems on transit, boxer, pajero, connect, mondeo, station owner says he will stand over the use of it as its 100% legal as there is tax being paid on it so was thinking of using it to bring the fuel costs down, so would it be a safe bet to use it on a mk1 focus 1.8 tddi engine? cheers

Is this actual biodiesel, or veg oil being mis-advertised as biodiesel?

I'd be really surprised if biodiesel was actually cheaper than mineral diesel given the higher manufacturing cost associated with it.

If it's proper biodiesel meeting IS EN 14214, then it should be ok, though you will find newer cars with a DPF having problems on it. If it's veg oil leave it there: modern diesel engines just can't cope with it in the fuel system.

Not to mention clogging the fuel filter more often

So a common rail non DPF diesel can handle Biodiesel?

My common rail diesel car specifically says on the inside of the fuel filler cap not to use biodiesel.
