"Great first day at Paracycling Track World in LA and yet another World Championship win for Irish Paracycling Team when Catherine Walsh and Francine Meehan took the coveted Rainbow Jersey another first for Ireland. In addition a silver medal for male tandem pairing of James Brown and Damien Shaw."

From Manager Dennis Toomey in LA!

    Well done

Colin Lynch qualified fastest in his qually by 3s so he is looking good.
Cathal Miller and Enda Smyth did great rides to finish 5th in their qualifiers.

Pity they didnt get a ride off for a medal.

Colin Lynch is new C2 pursuit world champion...he was well ahead early on and there was never any doubt about the result. Beat the world champion and world record holder too, CLASS ACT! He now has 2 rainbow jerseys and goes for another in the kilo tomorrow. Team Ireland are doing the business out in L.A.

thank you I am sure you are complimenting the boys and the staff and ..dare I say Cycling Ireland!!

With these boys and girls we can now cost success and I suppose it gives us a better argument when goign to the Irish Sports Council for funding.

The same goes for Martyn Irvine. We have a figure now for a successful campaign for Omnium and also for unsuccessful ones in Team Pursuit, although the girls were going faster each time but just started to late.

Hi - it's Colin here. Haven't posted in ages (as I've been training and training and training).

Buzzing fromt he 3KM win still and will be tough to back it up in the 1KM later today but going for it anyway.

Keep the fires lit for us back home as we really need the boost!

    Thanks for posting about us....!

Colin Lynch (Irish World Champion and proud)

Best of luck today, you're doing the country proud...not too often we get to celebrate the crowning of an Irish world champion. Great stuff!
