It's the Chairman's Dinner I think, I'm fairly sure you have to be involved with organising the ball somehow. Ask the CSC, I know the chair goes every year.

Its very much invitation only, you have to be on the guest list.

In general (excluding SU/GSU/CSC/DUCAC guests) all present would be of a standing which entitles them to senior common room membership
