I have an early flight from Dublin Airport next month so i thought I'd spend the night before at a hotel close by so there's the minimum hassle in the morning. I'll have a hire car to return.

Can anyone recommend somewhere reasonable, clean, modern, easy parking etc, within a stones throw of the airport?

    Thx!!

There's a whole bunch of hotels in the area. Bewleys comes well recommended here, free parking, comfortable rooms (good brekkie too). If you drop your hire car back the night before, you can use a shuttle bus to get to and from the hotel.

Others in the area include the Clarion, Travelodge (cheap and nasty), Carlton and RadissonBlu. Most of these offer shuttles too.

I recommend you search dublin airport hotels using www.booking.com

Clarion is the nearest and the shuttle drops you very near to the departures of terminal 1...same coach point as the radisson.

Bewleys and carlton etc are at coach pint 14 I think...just a short walk away but actaully quite a walk if you have a lot of luggage and are using terminal 2

I also suggest you get rid of the car the night before.

I've stayed at Bewleys Airport hotel quite a few times. I highly recommend it. I have gotten some very reasonable prices in the past.

Always stay at the Premier Inn myself when flying out of Dublin, suits us grand for one night. Has free parking and an airport shuttle if required

It meets all your requirments mentioned in your post

Bookings.com is my 'go to' site when choosing hotel - have you considered Roganstown?

They have a free shuttle and parking and are not like other the 'sterile' airport hotels

You've the Hilton Darndale Dublin Airport also, can be got for €70-80 sometimes. Other than than I can +1 the Premier Inn in Airside, nice and clean and nice beds to sleep in.

I feel the same way about the Carlton, very nice rooms but never impressed with the food. Still fine for an airport stay if you can manage to dine elsewhere (not easy without a car tbh).

The best ,most modern one,and I've tried them all is the hilton Dublin airport.
It's beside the clare hall tesco.
Their shuttle takes the back road to the airport and takes 10 minutes.
Of the rest of them,at least it feels like you are in a decent hotel and not a shack (room wise) like most of the others.

Thanks for all the replies, its a huge help!

I still have to make a decision but at least there's a lot of choice. Thanks a lot.

    :pac:

Crowne Plaza, Santry. Always stay there when I'm flying out!

Yeah the Plaza is quite close to the Travelodge ballymun, But its WORLDS apart in many ways.

Ballymun at night around that hotel is dodge city, your safe in the hotel but I wouldnt be visiting the locals. (I live near there so I can comment).

    Santry Crown Plaza is gorgeous.

A vote from me to Bewleys. Great room prices and their shuttle runs on demand unlike most other hotels (just done when staying at the hilton...missed the shuttle by 5min, next one not for another hour...€15 cab fare to the hotel. Not happy jan)

Radisson and bewleys are both very good. Bewleys is particularly good value, nice rooms, good facilities, and good parking, food etc.
