Have you tried the Dublin Woollen Mills, beside the Ha'penny Bridge?

The only two places I have found that have them are the Woolen Mills and Hickey's.
They are however very expensive and don't have a big selection. If you can bear to wait a few days, you're better off buying them online. I found a site that sells them for 46 cents a skein, about a 1/3 of the price of those stores.
I'm not sure I'm allowed to post the site here, so send me a pm and I'll tell you where to go

Thanks. I rang Dublin Woolen Mills and they only have Anchor threads. However they said that 'Rubenesque' in Powerscourt have DMC so i will give them a shot. I only need a couple of colours to finish off a project - i normally buy online but given that i am going to be in Dublin thought it would be easier to just pick them up.

Oh I had never heard of that shop. Will you report back on what they have and how much it is?

May I ask what project are you working on? I have gone back to my old hobby of cross-stitching. Right now I am finishing up a birth record and a height chart, after which I will be moving on to bigger and better things (HAED, Mirabilia, etc...)

    Will do.

I'm working on two projects at the moment - a baby afghan for a friend at work and a HAED.

This is the baby afghan that I am doing - it is actually a birth annoucement, but I am doing it on an afghan rug and wont be stitching the name

The other is my HAED - my pride and joy:) It's Nautilis Princess by JBG and has so far taken me about 2 years of stitching time. It is stitch 1 x 2 on 40 count newcastle linen, so it is pretty massive and I don't want to think about what it will cost to frame! I don't like stitching over 1 on 25 count which is what is suggested for HAED. Honestly I think they all turn out great, no matter what count you use. I normally only work on one project at a time, excpet for when I am doing baby afghans for friends (of which there has a been a few lately!) I love the HAED designs - what are you thinking of doing?

Ha ha, well that's the problem. There are just too many awesome patterns and not enough money for stash and not enough time in the day. I know I want to work on a HAED next but I can't decide which one yet.
Anyway, once I finally make a decision, I'll probably start a SAL on the xs forum.

Congratulations on your HAED, gorgeous work!
