I used to be a member (until the end of last month) regular peak membership is €70 a month. Which given the state of the place is an absolute rip off.

There are 2 options - off peak which is 50 per month you can use it up until 5pm mon - fri and all day at weekends and then there is peak which is all day everyday for 70 per month but as fair as I know you can get this down. I pay 60 per month for peak and it suits me just fine.

The gym itself is well laid out with plenty of space. There is plenty of cardio machines which you will never be waiting on. There is plenty of free weights in a seperate room which has 2 smith machines, a squat rack, a bench press, lots of plates and dumbells up to 45kg. Downstairs is strenght machines which are mainly all cybex and are ok and never really broken, here is also some more benches, dumbells and kettlebells. They have some pretty good classes which is also included in the price if your into that.

When you say the state of the place what exactly do you mean? Dirty?? I have had friends come in with me as guests and couldn't believe how clean it was compared to other gyms they were members in.

It is clean but it would make for a good backdrop to a 1970's porno.

I think it was very dirty. Trash left in lockers on a regular basis. No enforcement of towel use or cleaning down equipment after use. Months of dirt under machines upstairs.

Equipment very old and often not functioning properly. Loose belts on treadmills, elliptical machines with less than smooth action, rowing machines not properly maintained therefore having jerky motion. Most hasn't been replaced since the gym was opened in the late 1990s. All that seems to happen is pieces disappear.

Free classes are pretty boring and anything anyway new is set up as a special class and an extra fee applies (yoga, kettle balls, Pilates).

For €60 or €70 members deserve more.
