    Hi
I have a Bachelor of health science in occupational therapy from outside Eu. At the time of graduation my univ was not accredited with WFOT.(The course got accredited two years after I graduated)I moved to Canada to start grad program in OT and their requirement was to have 1000hr placement in total(from undergrad and post grad in total). I did placement in local rehab hospital in Canada and passed but did not finish master program(it was not pre register program anyway).

I was never in paid job only worked as a volunteer in various settings(children's center, with adults with physical or mental disabilities, rehab care, etc)

I would like to go back to work after 13 years of being a housewife. Aoti does not say whether I would get my license validated in Ireland. I don't know if applying for post grad course in u of L is good idea as I have to travel or relocate there(I'm based in Meath and three kids are in primary school).

Just asking for the wisdom from people out there.

OT job vacancies require you to have an accredited professional qualification, currently you do not unfortunately. I would suggest you will not be in a position to obtain employment as an OT in Ireland in your current position. In general, the rate of employment for OTs in Ireland at present is extremely low with a huge demand for positions by accredited and experienced OTs.
Without an accredited qualification and recent clinical experience your best option would by to try to work as a care assistant as an alternative.

Thank you for your suggestion. I know I can work as a care assistant but as I studied so hard for 4 years and another year to get into the graduate program, I would hate to see it gone without anything constructional outcome. My circumstance was not in position to pursue as an OT at the time. I love OT and I know the job market is not great at the moment, I however, would just love to work as an OT whether part time or full time.I saw OT internship ad on FAS website. I wonder if anyone heard if you could participate in one of those internship, and work toward the validation of the license. I hear a lot of doctors or nurses coming to Ireland to take part examination to work. Would anybody know how their system works?
