Please recommend a bike carrier

    I got a Hollywood F1 3 years ago and never had a problem with it, I use it most weekends. Linked below:

    I had one of these from halfords, worked perfectly. That said unless your bikes are light don't get one, my daughters cheap 18kg BSO MTB from halfords bent it after 1 journey, however it had done me fine for a year with light roadbikes on it.

    + 1 on the Hollywood. Mine's an Express 3. €80 in my LBS. It is very easy to put on and take off. Its very secure with 6 straps and a strab that goes around the bikes and they don't loosen during transport unlike some of the other carriers that I read reviews for. The hooks won't damage paint and the bike doesn't scratch the car.

    I'm looking at carriers for my mam's car and was looking at the one in Halfords as the ones in Cycle Superstore are a bit pricey. It's no surprise the one in Halfords are a bit ****, guess we'll be getting one of the Hollywood ones then as it will be carrying a Lapierre Tecnic 200 and 300, weighing about 28kg.

    Halfords cycle carrier caused damage to my car.

    I would strongly advise against using a Halfords bike carrier. I bought a Halfords carrier and used it for a single bike. Despite being fitted securely and correctly, it caused significant damage to my car. Firstly the "Foot points" stripped the paint from the boot of the car. Secondly the rubber caused indentations on the top of the bought.

    Halfords confirmed that the carrier was fitted correctly but have attempted to place the blame with me, explaining that the carrier must not have been fastened firmly enough.

    As This damage has caused approx €600 worth of damage to my car. I visited 2 repuptable bodyshops who confirmed that the carrier had damaged the car.
