Lads, Looking to get a bluetooth car kit for the car. Want one that will play through the speakers in the car.
Cant decide between the Parrot mki9200 or the Novero Truly one. Have a samsung Gallaxy S II phone.

Anyone got an experience of these ?

The Parrot is 50 euro more expensive!

Parrot is a great job. You dont even have to press a button with incoming calls. You just say accept or reject. You also can have two phones paired at one time..

    Parrot mki9200 is fantastic kit...
Just make sure that they hook it up to the stereo for full speaker support (if you get someone to fit it) as otherwise you'll have sound coming out of one speaker incl music.

    I miss my one :(

Had the Parrott MK9200 since it came out, great piece of kit. Would recommend it highly.

Screen is great for ipod tracks also, and voice dial is good too.

I have the Parrot and its great. The remote can be flakey though. Especially in the cold. I often have to hold it in front of the hot air vent for a bit to make it work.

    Cheers for the replies.
So has anyone ever used the navero?
The guy that is installing it is pushing for the nevero as he said the parrot is more suited to the iphone. Not too interested in playing music as I already have an aux coar!

Have fitted 1000s of parrot and basic & high end
Have fitted 3 novero and all 3 have been replaced by parrot kits

One of the vans in the job has a Novero kit in it. It's grand. Volume on it is a bit low though.

Got an MKi9200 put in my own car just after Christmas, and loving it. Fantastic for streaming music, and being able to connect the phone to it for full music control is great.

As a phone kit, it's very good. Sound quality on mine, and the receivers end is excellent. And it's the first kit I've ever used where life recognition actually works.

If you can stretch the extra €50, I would. Totally worth it.

Grand, Looks like I will try to stretch for the parrot MKi9200.
Hopefully I can get the price reduced.

    Thanks for the help :)

I'd also recommend the Parrot MKi9200, Now with it's new 2.0 Software, can also pair two phones at one time, multipoint, however there is due to be another patch out in the next few weeks to improve it as it is the first of the newest 2.0 software.

The Truely is not too bad, also multipoint but never really had too many issues, is a cheaper kit, but with the MKi9200 it allows for so much more, and is such a better interface and in some aspects better quality too.

For a recommended Parrot installer in your area, check out this link,

Only trust certified installers, and not Halfords, as they aren't actually recommended by Parrot at all, so best of luck.

Parrot deifinitely. Had a good few kits and parrots always win. You won't be disappointed. The guy could easily know that the Novero may give trouble and you'll end up buying the parrot in a few months as well so more €€'s for him!

I know I know thats all very pessimistic, but just a thought. He's probably bang on though, try both and go for whichever you prefer, but the majority here and who I've seen go for the parrot. Its the better kit

i bought the parrot mki9200 today and installed in myself in 1hr and 30mins. half that was spent trying to fit everything back in with out breaking everything with all the new cable and blocks. i'm using it with the samsung galaxy sII. paired and synced perfectly first time no updates needed. total cost was €220 but worth it.

Yeah I ended up getting it installed also samsung galaxy s ll aswel. Nice piece of gear. Connectivity and sound are very good. Only problem I've had is the screen doesn't stick that well to the dash.
    Other than that 100%.
Cost me 230e installed by halfords.

What do you expect Halfrauds fitted it

But they havent a clue how to install anything

In fairness to halfords they installed it perfectly and even set it for me. Unfortunately the screen only comes with a sticky tape which, as it turns out is not so sticky. Everyone else I rang about the instillation were looking for 300 plus.

The Parrot mki9200 has a built in amp running something like 15/20w total power. Means the sound only comes out of the front speakers in car when playing music on the iPod/USB/aux leads or Bluetooth streaming  The equaliser is not all that good and the bass distorts when cranked up. it is also a pain in the hole if you want to fit an aftermarket amp/sub after installing the parrot.

It is however a trick bit of kit for the money. I got one installed a year or so ago because the shape of my oem head unit made it impossible to upgrade.

Just make sure you have the latest software upgrades on the parrot AND iPod or you start having connectivity issues. Best to update parrot and iPod software upgrades at the same time.

Luckily I don't have any apple products so everything is working perfectly so far. I also have sound coming from the 4 speakers?? Got the updated software for the parrot. Loving it so far.

Sound for music should come over all speakers in car depending on car make, and stereo
Voice should come over front 2 speakers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20 EvolutionSounds

First of all I'll have to agree with futurec, the sound is from all sources, iPod, iPhone iTouch, USB, aux input as well as SD card or Bluetooth streaming comes threw all four speakers, or 6 or 8 depending on the design setup of the car, some Audi have the centre speaker, but yes it's a 4x20w amp, small and not too heavy but does have a good sound quality for the price. Where as the phone is only the front.

Now 4x45w stereo have better ofcourse, and so on and so forth, but you spend the money on sound quality, this is where experts know what there talking about, Halfords sell what's on a shelf, and then have a computer to see how to take apart cars. I've had numerous jobs sent from Halfords because they don't want to risk stripping the interior of a BMW 5seriers, haven't the brass neck to tackle brand new fiesta's and even after joing phono wires to a single speaker wire for me too mend.

Also, these kits can be wired in threw an amplifier, so you can have a sub-woofer wired in for extra base, or by pass the parrot amp and use your stereo amplifier if it has it's own input like an auxiliary, so sorry to the guy who doesn't know that much about the kit to correct him.

Not gonna sweep all the halfords staff with the same brush, but the reason Parrot have certified installers on their own website is cause we work along side with them, Halfords are in most cases 18yr old to 22 yr old kids reading how to dismantle a car by pictures put up on a Halford help site for their staff, how I know because a few times a month I'll have to do a job they are affraid to do, so you pay for experience, peace of mind and certified recommended installers who call to your home or place of work, not keep you waiting around for between 1 and a half hours to 3 hours.

I'd rather buy a bit of quality for a bit more than a little less to incur the person who fitted your kit not being the same person to maybe mend your kit. I'm not selling myself here, I am purely saying check out Parrot for installers, yes price them around but Halfords are not an approved installers.
