Thanks in advance for your help !

You give your VAT number to your UK supplier(s) and they send you the goods without charging VAT. You then charge VAT in the normal way and pay Revenue. It gets really messy if you go to the UK and bring the goods home yourself after paying VAT.

You must also charge yourself Irish VAT on the goods imported, and claim a credit for that VAT in the same return.

It costs you nothing, but if you don't do it, and Revenue find out, they will charge you penalties based on the VAT you haven't charged yourself. Having to pay a penalty on a self-cancelling transaction would be a really silly mistake to make.
