Bought something fake online

Hi, I bought something about 3 weeks ago on officialnewyorkgiantsshop.com. My credit card (VISA FWIW) was charged straight away, but curiously from Beijing and for slight more than I authorised.

I heard nothing and got no conformation email, so I suspected something was up and on closer inspection the site looks a bit dodgy.

I rang the CC company and they said I would have to wait 15 days before I could apply for a chargeback for not receiving the goods.

Anyway the thing arrived today but it seems fake. Is there anything I can do?

really? you have any doubt in your mind that its still real?

i dont know what you can do know that the goods have arrived, perhaps send them back get your money back - postage costs?

Presumably it was not tracked delivery? You could just chargeback anyway and tell VISA it did not arrive. You could return it through their returns process although whether that can be trusted is anyones guess

The site points to an operation selling fakes as there are no contact details or phone numbers. Their 'Contact us' page is titled 'Content Us'

I'd have to send them back to china and the website doesn't have any way of contacting them.

ya they do not provide contact info, did you recieve confirmation emails off them? does the package have a return address?

Actually, I would phone your credit card company and ask them what cover they offer you if you ended up buying goods on the internet that are fake. Afterall, VISA & Mastercard are allowing these sites to operate

Lol you bought stuff from "officialnewyorkgiantsshop.com", that has to be real!!!

Did you also recently help a Nigerian Prince out with some money issues

From experience, anything that tries too hard to appear legit probably isn't

Not a big limit on the card but I suppose when I speak to the CC company tomorrow they can advise if it should be changed as a precaution.
