Its sad. Another human soul is going to be set on fire for ever because of their deeds while here on Earth. While most would probably call it justice, Jesus would weep as he sees another one of his flock lost. Now only God the Father can administer mercy to "the reverened" ian paisley; heretic, evil sectarian bigot, encourager of violence, division, and terrorism, traitor to his word, and egotistical power grabbing shyster.

I hope he does, even ian paisley deserves forgiveness.

A tad unkind, AFAIK he was never directly involved in loss of life and followed his own strict church teachings to the letter - would it not be better to pray for his recovery?

Would you think the same of the person in command of the Belfast PIRA ( think of the bloddy Friday bombings )and who made Jean McColville "disappear" as you would of someone who believed in supporting the law of the land and who kept the ten commandments? Which do you think is the better Christian?

That's not nice! This is the Christianity forum, not the sectarian forum. The man is just another sinner like everybody else, and we have plenty too - swallow your feelings and reserve your fear for your own soul instead - and simply pray for him, that's what you are called to do ultimately.

I would'nt agree with everything Paisley said or done but at least he was generally law abiding. Catholics on an island off the Antrim coast voted for him. And at least he shared power with Adams and brought peace in the end. Not the worst of them, at least he did not bomb, kill or torture.

By all means, I'll pray for his salvation. I said as much in the OP where I said I hope God the Father forgives him.

    What wonderful Christian behaviour.

Whatever happened to "God shall judge."
