Connecting up the DVD recorder!!

    Hi All,

    sorry if this is in the wrong part, mods please feel free to move, thanks

    Got a DVD recorder for christmas, just getting around to setting it all up.

    I have UPC digital, am I able to use the dvd recorder to record off the digital

    Do i use a scart box to connect it all up, or whats the best way of doing it?

    Ive been trying for the last two moinths and no success.
    I believe it is possible but it wrecked my head trying!

    I have a Sony hdd/DVD recorder set up as follows:

    UPC scart to line 1 scart input on recorder
    Scart out from hdd/DVD to tv
    Hdmi from hdd/DVD to tv(for 1080p upscaling of DVD playback)

    Works a treat but recording from UPC box to DVD/hdd must be done in "real time"

    Is there a difference between a regular scart and a scart convertor that has the three little pins in it? Would it make a difference?
