hi im an old iphone user that has switched over to a motorola defy. i am currently living in france and have to buy top up cards. the problem is the phone just sucks away my credit in a couple of hours.

ive tried and tried to ensure there isnt an app that is using the data but i just cant figure it out.

on the iphone there was an option to make the phone only connect to the web or use data when it was in a wifi area. i have found these options but it still keeps eating my credit.

    any help is really appreciated....

settings > wireless & networks > mobile network and untick enable always on data as well as making sure data roaming is unticked.

you can also download widgets from the android market which will put an icon on your desktop to disable the data connection so you can turn it on and off whenever you want.

personally, i'm a big fan of the switchpro widgets as they can group a bunch of icons together across your screen for everything from battery percentage to wifi, bluetooth control etc.
