7th meets 3rd in what will almost certainly be Liverpools toughest game at home for the rest of the season. The reverse fixture was a torrid one with Liverpool reduced to 9 men after Adam then Skrtel saw red, Spurs winning 4-0 in the end. The London side have had the advantage (bar one game) ever since Redknapp took over.

    Form guide
    LFC WLDLW
    Spurs WWDLW

Panto villain Luis Suarez is back while Steven Gerrard is apparently fit to play, Craig Bellamy could start on the bench after three games in quick succession apart from Lucas the squad is fit.

Spurs injured and doubtful list includes King (knee), Walker (groin), Lennon (hamstring), Defoe (hamstring), Van der Vaart (calf), Adebayor (hamstring)

Huddlestone (ankle, Mar) and Gallas (calf, unknown)

Should be a cracker. A real open game i'd imagine...

    3 - 1 Spurs

    Friedel
    Walker--Kaboul--King-benny

    Kranjcar--Parker--Modric--Bale
    VDV
    Saha/Ade

Ade is the only one there that is doubtful I think, the rest have been training recently and Walker and VDV came off as precautions only in the last game.

Liverpool raise their game when they play the big clubs.

    2-1 to them, I reckon.

Going for a draw here, a result neither team needs nor wants.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,885 ✭✭✭Optimalprimerib

Liverpool are now where spurs were about a decade ago. Flashes of quality but consistency is an issue. The only thing that they have over us back then, is the ability to raise their game where need be. Also the fact that when we faced them last time around, they were unprepared and cock sure of themselves and we absolutely destroyed them.

This time round the roles are reversed, so I hope that the hunger is there to see this through. TBH I would take a draw now seeing that today's result was kind to us.

Would feel like that horse owner if we won though. COYS

Really looking forward to this one. I can see this being a right cracker with a fair few goals going in - leaning towards a 4-2 home win that will leave us breathless!!!

Nervous enough about this game, but hopefully Liverpool canput in another good performance and get a positive result after Chelsea dropping a couple of points today, and 4 teams within 2 points of 4th would be an epic race potentially, with Spurs not guaranteed it either if they lose tomorrow, albeit not under any immediate pressure on that front even if it does happen.

I really hope Ledley King doesn't play as he is always immense against us when fit.

It's Liverpool at Anfield so it has a draw written all over it.

I'll go with 1-1, dodgy VDV peno and Andy Carroll to get a hat-trick. Two of which are ruled out for offside.

I would be happy enough with a win for Pool, but I guess, it will be a dull draw

Tough game. It'll be hard to call but you can't look past a Spurs win, they have the quality and are the better side. They won 2-0 at Anfield last season so i don't think they will be over awed and this is a must win game for the pool.

Could be a great game. Liverpool will be out for revenge and should have almost a fully fit squad. Would be great to see Gerrard, Bellamy, Enrique and Suarez in the same team.

Won't try predict a scoreline as I've no idea how it will go.

I'd take a draw tbh, a win would be brilliant, building on the Cups wins and a very important Wolves win.

Anfield needs to be a cauldron just as much as the City and United games, this is just as big.

    Spearing -- Adam

    Carroll
Suarez to come on and score.

Apparently Spurs is the only home defeat for Liverpool since Kenny came back.

    A draw then, nailed on!

Can't see past the draw myself to be honest, if we hit them hard from the start like they did against us early in the season we could probably get a win, but for that to happen we would need to start with Bellamy, Downing, Suarez and Gerrard which I can't see happening.

Harry Redknapp will dash to Anfield on a private jet tonight to take charge of Tottenham’s vital title clash with Liverpool.

The Spurs boss will be whisked away from the closing stages of his trial on tax evasion charges to board a plane for the 220-mile flight to Merseyside.

Harry’s flying circus will swing into action because close of play at Southwark Crown Court, where the jury is expected to be sent out to consider their verdict tomorrow, is normally around 4.30pm – too late for the Tottenham manager to make the long trip up north by road.

Although Redknapp has left training to his assistants Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan, he has been present in the dug-out for Spurs’ games against Watford and Wigan since his trial in London began.

He is planning to pick the team, deliver the team talk and make the return journey south on the team’s planned charter flight after tonight’s match.

Redknapp, 64, will have to decide whether to unleash former Everton striker Louis Saha, Tottenham’s surprise free transfer signing on deadline day, for his debut in the old enemy’s back yard.

Saha said: “When everyone clicks, it’s very hard to defend against Tottenham. It’s amazing – I can’t wait to get started.”

Why do the team have a chartered flight for after the game? Do teams fly to and from matches?

I could understand it if Newcastle were playing Southampton but London to Liverpool is only about 4 hours away on the bus, less on the train.

Which types of distances do they fly and for which games do they go by bus?

Henderson will start over Adam lads and justifiably so imo, Adam was run ragged at white Hart lane. I'm hopeful for a Liverpool win but I am genuinely fearful of spurs- they are a quality team this season. I can see a narrow win for the pool though to keep their momentum going.

    Head-to-head

Spurs are looking to complete a Premier League double over Liverpool for the second consecutive season.
Liverpool have won just one and lost four of their last five Premier League meetings with Tottenham.
Tottenham's 2-0 win last May was their only Premier League victory in 17 visits to Anfield.

    Liverpool

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league at Anfield this season, but have been held to seven draws - the club's most ever at this stage of a top-flight campaign.
Jamie Carragher has scored three Premier League goals for Liverpool - equal to the number of own goals he has scored in games against Spurs.
The Reds' tally of 14 Premier League goals at home is their fewest at this point in a season since 2001-02.
Craig Bellamy has scored in each of his last four Premier League starts - a total of five goals.
Kenny Dalglish has won five and lost five games against Spurs as a Premier League manager.
Daniel Agger is in line to make his 100th Premier League start.

    Tottenham

Tottenham have scored in their last 22 Premier League games, the longest run by any club within a single season since 2007-08.
Harry Redknapp has been a winner just twice in 28 Premier League visits to Merseyside.
Spurs' tally of 49 points from 23 games is their best-ever in the Premier League.
Emmanuel Adebayor has scored three goals in his last three Premier League games against Liverpool.
Gareth Bale is set to make his 100th Premier League appearance.
Spurs have drawn 199 games in the Premier League era.

That statistic about Carragher made me laugh!

Tough game to call tonight, but with our recent form, Suarez's return, Spurs' injuries and the atmosphere of a night fixture in Anfield I'm feeling confident that we will nick it.

    2-1 Liverpool
