Heating Zones

Can someone point me in the right direction, recently refurbished house, 3 zones, upstairs, downstairs and hot water. The problem I have been having is only the downstairs zone works when I manually select it. If I try the same with the other two zones, nothing happens. This is playing havoc when I need to put heating on during the night (6 month old baby feeds). The upstairs heating will only work when I manually turn on all zones.
The timer works ok once all zones are all on the same timeframes but I thought this beats the purpose of zones. This is doing my nut!
Btw its a glow-worm flexicom 30x with sauter timer. Hopefully that makes sense to someone.

Also system loses pressure every few weeks but I think it is the older rads in the house causing this. System works fine once is topped up again.

Not in the position to afford a plumber at present so any tips please.

I think you may need to have the wiring of your system checked as all three zones should work independently of each other or any two together or all three at any time.Hopefully it is electrical as this should be easily sorted. If it is a pipework problem it may not be as straightforward. With regards to the system losing pressure, you mentioned that you had some old radiators in the house sometimes old radiator valves can lose tiny amounts of water through the gland seals.Might be an idea to have these checked.

You need to check the outputs on your timer against the wiring diagram if you still have it. If you select one zone and three are giving out power to your pumps or valves then your timer is toast. try a reset on your timer before you go paying anyone to look at it. Has it always been like this since day one. If so your sparks is probably at fault. unfortunatly your probably going to have to pay some one to look at it

Thanks, I will check power to pumps, I think they all work independently, well the light comes on.
