I'm quite new to the scene and was hoping to get some advice on where to go tonight - gay or gay-friendly. It would be great if someone could give the name of places along with a description of the usual crowd, music, how busy they would be on a Sat compared to other nights. (I've already googled this but a lot of the reviews I found are old.)

    Dublin?

    www.gcn.ie/event_guide

    would recommend front lounge/pantibar/dragon

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Pantibar is amazing.

Despite it's name it's such a down to earth venue with a great mix of people

Since someone is asking about Saturday can anyone recommend for Friday? To the person who is going out Saturday it depends on the age as has been said but I find the music in the George on Sat is usually rubbish

Agreed on Panti bar. Though the music there can be a hit and miss... sometimes the usual chart, sometimes something decent

If any of these bars have a music machine, just hoard it for the night and put on a few depressing death metal tunes.
