Ive noticed recently whilst watching matches on Canal+ poland and other channels with sky sports news on another tv side by side, that Sky sports soccer saturday seems to be ahead of the actual live matches? Watching Norwich match on Diema currently and the presenters are cheering the goal seconds before the goal is on Diema. Ive noticed this before with other channels to.

Hi snaps, you must be getting sky sports news from 28.5?
Canal+ requires more uploading and downloading to broadcast the EPL.
this is enough to cause that irritating delay.:)

so sky sports news studio must have one or two less links in the chain???

just that Canal+ is either taking the feed from 28.5 re-uploading them to the satellite they use and that signal has to be downloaded again,
even if Canal+ is getting a feed from another satellite uploaded on behalf of sky it adds a delay.

even on analouge TV you hear a channel seconds before you hear it on a digital box.

Possibly something to do with encoding as well i assume?

TBH snaps i do not know how much of a delay encoding and decoding causes.
i sometimes stay with friends that have a set-up to envy.
the solution i found was to pause live tv on a sky+ box and restart it to sync both.

ive done a bit of investigating since, HD channels seem to be a lot further behind than SD ones. I would say the lads in soccer saturday studio only have one uplink on their feeds (Raw feed), while we the customer have multiple uplinks till the picture finally ends up at the DTT end (Home)

Sky sports get their feeds via high speed broadband & not via Satellite as far as I'm aware lads

I don't think any Premier League feeds ever existed at 28.5° East. Have they?
