Polish N and old sky Mk2 single lnb dish problem

For the 2nd time now ive installed a Polish N HD decoder and a brand new sky MK1 or 2 dish with the thompson single output lnb (Dont know where these guys are getting these dishes from as they seem unused?!)

Problem i seem to have, is that even though signal strength is fine the N epg transponder which also contains TVP1/TVP HD doesnt work? All other channels including HD channels seem ok.

When decoder boots up, it says it cannot find channels, and the TVP1 channel is no signal. No BER, quality and signal are both around 90%, so its a strange one.

Im putting it down to the LNB, could this be? Its hard to swap the LNBS as these lnbs that are on these older dishes are the moulded thompson ones with the arm bracket moulded into the design and all i have is the newer MK4 quads. They dont want to buy a new dish as they have "Acquired" this dish already.

Just to note, some of you that know me, i used to install Satellite professionally, but now only to do it for favours, so i dont have the full access to a range of kit like i used to, (Had to get a full time job with regular income due to family commitments).

For reference, i went back today with another lnb (mtl quad) and all is well, so for some strange reason those old single output Thompson LNBs are no good for the setup this person wanted.

i had problems years ago with old sky lnbs where they would bring in some frequencies and not others. i just thought the lnb's were gone kaput.

i was using them with sky boxes and a temporary cure was to switch off the 22 khz signal and i could get some of the frequencies back working, but then the others on the high band wouldn't work.

the problem you have probably has nothing to do with that and i haven't been using old sky lnb's/boxes for years so haven't seen similar problems recently with any of the boxes i've used (dreambox, technomate, azbox, lidl sl65's etc)
