Has anyone any suggestions for travel sickness. Taking the boat to France this year and dreading it. I love France for our holiday but if I could avoid boat trip I would, have looked at flying but its not an option.

    any suggestions please

There is medication available for travel sickness. Your local chemist is probably the best person to approach in this regard.
Failing that, your GP should be able to prescribe something.

As the sailing to France is an overnight trip, I would recommend that you book a cabin and try to get one close to the centre of the boat. (Nearer the centre of gravity, hence less choppy).

Watch out for the weather forecast before you sail. If the seas are calm (as they are 99.9% of the time), relax an reassure yourself that the sailing will be smoother than the drive to the ferry. Make little plans about what you'd like to do on the boat. A bit of shopping here, a coffee there, dinner in the restaurant, a wee brandy in the bar, a movie....

Treat the place as your hotel from the moment you step on board, I've done the Rosslare - Cherbourg ferry about a dozen times and I can safely say, its my favourite way of travelling from Ireland, Better than any airline.

    Enjoy your holiday. :)
