Very amused to read this & just wondering what people's views are.

Appears to be a waste of English tax payer's money in one sense. The alleged offence occured in 2003.

I assume the case is to be proved solely on this incriminating documentary evidence discovered allegedly found by detectives.

also, out of curiosity, is there a compellability of one spouse to give direct evidence against another such a criminal case (not in this one, i assume, as they are presently co-accuseds), or could their be a claim of marital privilege here? in ireland, from my memory, this is governed by the criminal evidence act 1992.

Not sure why you think it's a waste of taxpayers' money; if they are found guilty, they will almost certainly face jail time. Ultimately the offence of perverting the course of justice is more serious than the offence to which she admitted culpability but to which it is alleged he is guilty.

There is an issue here in that many married couples I know have regarded this as an acceptable activity. I doubt they will in the future, whatever the outcome of the case.

Huhne/Pryce as no longer married and they are co-accused so presumably compellability will not be an issue

It's very possible that they are innocent although I fail to see how she could have driven from Kingsway (very central London) to Stansted Airport, picked up her husband and back to the speedcamera location in something like 45 minutes at 11pm or similar.
