Gas Boiler, pump turning on automatically

    Hi,
I have started to notice that sometimes the pump in my Gas boiler (Ferroli) turns on of its own accord.
It may stay on for a few minutes, and I can hear some rads 'creaking'.
However, the boiler does not fire.
If I do a reset of the boiler the pump stops.

Any idea why this would happen?

Some boilers have a thing that if the temperature falls to 8C, it runs the pump for a little while. Could that be it?

Some boilers have pump run function, I can recall one make doing this every 19 hours.

My ferroli boiler seems to have lost pressure and the CH standby light is flashing....i have looked everywhere for a filling loop to try repressurise the system, but cant seem to locate it anywhere. Looking through google it might be possible that i have only the two end valves and i have to put the loop on manually ( though i will need to get one if thats the case). anyone have any ideas where i mihgt find the loop if it exists on my system, or where the valves are that i need to connect to?
    any help or suggestions appreciated.....

The usual place is near the cylinder in the hot press or near the boiler, I've seen it in all sorts of places, in cupboards, attics etc., it's fed off the mains water supply, so following that might locate it.

i have an idea what im looking for, just cant find anything resembling it...i seen (in the UK) that loop should only be connected if its being used, so i might assume that it is taken off currently, and i may have to get one and put it on myself.
However, i dont know where the levers/taps/valves are that i need to adjust.
Directly under the boiler i have 3 valves, 1 yellow and 2 red, the yellow i think is the gas..the reds dont turn and this may be the area i need to insert the filling loop?? see pic attached

The yellow one is the gas.
The 2 red ones are boiler isolation vavles and are not what you are looking for.
Most of the pipework seems to be concealed so you might have difficulty locating it.
If it can't be found you may have to get a new one installed.

have a look in hot press,ur heating coil should run through cylinder,it will be two pipes coming from cylinder in line with each other about 1/3 way down from top and same up from bottom.ur filler loop may be connected in here,a photo would most likely confirm

Maybe a faulty PCB or frost stat. You need to get someone to look at your Ferroli Temperamental :)

    Nice picture,

Good place to store combustable material (cereal boxes)
3 amp spur should be a 'switched' type
Lovely to have electrical cables laying on the gas pipe
Suspect bonding clip (can't see earth cable!)
Unprotected gas pipe with plaster all over it and in contact with the screed/plaster, corrosion?
A few cable clips would be nice to tidy up the hanging power cable
Wonder it that a 3 or 4 core cable, any permanent live to boiler? if not, on that boiler
it leads to pcb failure (as I see its using an external timeclock) then again, pump wouldn't be running on would it...!!

Where is the pipe from the safety valve?
