Surprised nobody made a thread on this since there was a thread within minutes of it happening at the Liverpool v Oldham game

Finally us Liverpool fans can rub those awful Utd fans noses in it.

Good to see a club fans take a stand and inform police about incidents that they witness. Police should not have to rely on Twitter for information.

go back to the racism thread, where it was claimed that liverpool fans are the problem and were the cause of two stadium disasters..most utd fans are sound im just pointing out, for those who don't seem to understand that the problem is everywhere not just in liverpool

Was at the game, freezing my ass off!

4 seats down from my usual seat there was someone that usually doesn't sit there. An irish bloke, think he was from Tipperary due to the hat he was wearing. He wasn't locked but he was on the way, definitely a merry soul. Anyways every time Johnny Evans touched the ball (Scholes aside was MOTM for me) he shouted abuse at him. Embarrassing to say the least. At one point he shouted "Your neighbour scored tonight Johnny, doing us a favour tonight and he fooking plays for the right country, you fooking hun cúnt". My face went red with embarrassment. The woman beside me reported him.

    There are idiots everywhere.

I wonder did people just not have the confidence to report racist behaviour by fellow fans before the Suarez and Terry incidents.

Those stats aren't much without taking into account the number of people attending the games.

Either way, one arrest due to racism is one too many.
EDIT: I don't mean they shouldn't arresting them, I mean it's sad to have even one racist person in the stadium.

Indeed. Could even indicate that clubs with the most race related arrests just have fansthat are more likely to report such behaviour.

They mean little or nothing they just seemed relevant to the topic. Its actually quite rare that people are arrested for racist chanting. Of course any arrests are too many.

Racism is not a Man utd v Liverpool thing..........it is a greater problem than "rubbing utd fans noses in it"

What's so special about 2008/09? Just out of curiosity?

Wasn't that the season a few dopes got arrested at City for the Elephant Adebayor chant that Spurs fans made up. Seems like a strange year to pick. A journalist with a mission IMO.

Number of arrests is irrelevant imo, just means some stewards are doing better jobs than others. I'd hazard a guess that there is racism in some form at 90% of games in the PL, just because it's not loud enough for a steward to hear doesn't mean it's not there. The last generation was largely racist and it will remain a problem...

It might just be as far back as records go. I'm not sure. What I am sure is that he does not have an Manchester City affiliation.

The only thing the stats prove is that racist chanting is widespread across the Premier league.

I would not say that chanting was widespread.

A few edjits at all clubs shouting abuse..yes...chanting..no.
