One of the best way to promote a running event locally is putting posters in leasure centres and shops. At certain times of the year though it is very hard to get space on notice boards. I always keep my posters to A4 or A5 size. Recently I have noticed some organisers using A3 size posters. For example in my local gym there are two A3 size posters for upcoming events from the same organizer on the notice board which take up a third of the board. It's a 'small' gripe ;) but it is something should be kept in mind.

Just do what I do as that's ok!

You have little to be worrying about and maybe you should keep that in mind.

Don't let the tongue in cheek title of this thread deceive you. I am taking this issue very serious and have ordered my 'Ban large event posters' protest posters (a5 size) for distribution next week. This issue is up there with 'Thumb tack vs blue-tack' when it comes to gym posters.

It's down to they gym to tell people to feck off with their large posters when someone walks in with an A3 sheet to put up.

Or put yours on top of the other one.

Sassy response of the year! I've now subscribed to your cause. Ban all A3 posters!

Speaking from within the Print Industry, poster sizes start at A3, A4's and A5's are flyers!!! :D

I always thought a poster was something that was 'posted' to a wall and a flyer was something you handed out to someone to take away.

If you stuck a stamp to a wall would it become a poster? :)

When I said 'something' I meant promotional material as that is what this thread is about. But yes, I think you could have a stamp sized poster or a beer mat sized one. I think the other main difference between between a poster and a flyer is that one is advertising and the other is more for information. Really they can be the same thing depending on the use.

Some people call our local pitch a field.

Is the original post a serious complaint?
