The average appears to be around 5% except for the travel 90 which has been hiked up a staggering 13.2%. This should be immediately reduced to a nice round figure of €20 and marketed well and it could soon become the standard Dublin bus fare and do away with many cash fares!

I guess the Travel90 hike means that DB eventually copped on to it's normal use...

Annual ticket gone up 5% to 1,050.

This also went up last year 2% to 1,000.

That's it. Annoy your best customers.

At least mine isn't due for renewal til Jan 2013

    February 3, 2012

The December fares approval provided Leap Card customers with a 9% discount on cash fares. This differential is in place to incentivise the use of this card, which speeds up boarding time for all customers.
Unless you are trying to use it for a short journey, overall the increases don't appear too harsh even for the Travel90 which does allow unlimited use/transfers within 90 minutes of its activation.

The travel 90 ticket:cool: has been around for years even before the new smart cards and it was sold at all ticket agents and also the airport back when it was a pack of cards you just took 1 used it and threw away. The Leap card is still the most expensive even with the hykes in price. Basically its cheaper for the company not to deal with cash as jobs can be cut not only will workers in company but they will not need the coins to be picked up by security company as often. Also before you go and buy loads of tickets check dates on them as all come with expiry dates so as when fares are changed the tickets wont last.

It is good for people that use it to what is over the price they would pay cash.
I agree there latest increases are mad and have worked there for few years and people are taking it out on drivers.
Drivers are the 1st people anybody see and for some reason also think that it is ok to take their anger and attitude out on us.

A lot of people with the annual ticket are supplied by where they work don't worry not saying everyone and no offence intended to yourself I really hope things get better or it looks like many more people will be out of jobs.
