On Sunday in The Tied Cottage Chase it's a staight match up between Big Zeb 4/6 (was 4/5) and Sizing Europe 5/4 (making up a third runner is Imperial Shabra 100/1)

It's very close to call, what's your thoughts ?

For me its Sizing all the way, cant understand how he is second fav, the way he won last time out was incredible and to my eye looked better than last season.

I asked Graham Cunningham about this today:

"the answer probably revolves around a couple of factors. First, its the Punchestown factor. Big Zeb got the better of a corking duel wit SE in the Champion Chase here last May and he was seven lengths ahead of him when the pair finished second and third behind the ill-fated Golden SIlver in this race 12 months ago.

Those two results, allied to the very demanding ground, suggest that it could be the admirable BZ who emerges on top again. However, I suspect the market will take all I've said into account and I wouldn't quibble with anyone who decided to row in with Sizing Europe if he ends up drifting out to 13-8 or bigger on the day."

Yeah I dont think conditions in Ireland see SE at his best.

    Could go either way though.

Sizing Europe for me, I'd have him as favourite.

Pity there isn't a few more horses in it, 4th place has prize money of €1200. Not sure how much it is to enter a horse in this race though.

Imperial Shambra will probably complete in his own time for €3600.

Ground is down as being heavy- doesn't look all that bad to me?

Get in there, what a horse. I thought Zeb had him covered 2 out.

Stupid ****ing bookies took down the Champion Chase market before the race:p

Very good win for Sizing Europe, I thought he was done myself a few out, but produced that class strong gallop again.

I love his ability to clear fences so strongly

Very good win for Sizing by 15L, backed Big Zeb myself of course!!

(S/Life) Tied Cottage Chase Analysis: The front two in the betting for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham were on trial here and a decisive victory for the current titleholder SIZING EUROPE. The 10-year-old had looked on good terms with himself all season and nothing we saw in this event would change that opinion as he powered clear of Big Zeb off the home turn. The winner was given a positive ride by Andrew Lynch and always had a lead over Big Zeb of a good three or four lengths down the back straight. The runner-up moved closer after three out and even looked to set to give Sizing Europe a run for his money facing up to the final fence but was soon put in his place. It was interesting to hear afterwards that Big Zeb's jockey Robbie Power had never really been totally happy on him from an early stage and once his chance was gone he eased him significantly after the last. That said, it will take a fair leap of faith to think the tables will be turned at Cheltenham even at the top of his game against a younger rival - both are sure to be better served by some decent spring ground as well. Imperial Shabra had his moment in the sun as he led the two big guns over the first but was soon dropped down the far side and came back in his own time.

He was 8 lengths or so down at the last and never getting close. Sizing Europe will hammer him again in March.
