I can understand exclusive use for a wedding but not for an engagement for 2 people.

I'd fully believe that's a genuine offer...they are known to be expensive. Friends of mine have been at weddings there and couldn't afford to stay in the overpriced guest rooms so had to get an overpriced taxi to the closest B&B which is miles away. Rip off Ireland is alive and well!
