I recently moved to Galway and am living in Baile an Choiste if anyone knows it. Im looking for a gym on the Tuam road side of the city.

I went to the Claregalway gym behind the hotel, was left waiting for ages at the counter, wasnt allowed try the gym out "I had to have the instructor there to show me around" even though I knew how to use everything already and to be honest the woman was very unfriendly it put me right off. So ruled that out straight away!

Hi Joe this may not be your thing but point blank gym is just off the tuam road! Its a mixed martial arts gym! there are classes in Brazilian jujitsu, wrestling, boxing and kettlelbells! It's a great way to get fit and you dont need any experience to start :) There are beginners classes on mon and thurs @7 but any night you go the lads there are great for helping out and imo its much more social than running on a treadmill, since your new to the area! you'll find it on face book or pointblankgym.com. Tim Murphy is head coach and all round nice guy. good luck with whatever you choose and welcome to galway :)

Galway City gym would be a good option. Peak gym beside tescos would be another. Although not as good as galway city gym, peak is cheap, has good parking and you can do your shopping afterwards :)

I have a living social voucher for Peak gym if you want it. I have a year membership with NUIG so won't use it. It gives the person 10 gym sessions, but they must be all used before the 26th of this month.

Peak Physique has a special offer until the 18th of this month. 2 people for 249, so thats 125 euro for a years membership!!!!
