    Hey guys,

Stepdad is due an upgrade, has been offered the Galaxy S2, I said to him to go for the Nexus with ICS but it doesnt seem available on O2 yet, I believe the GS2 is actually a better bit of kit but aint updated to ICS yet!

    So 2 queries :

    1. Anyone know when Nexus is due on O2?

    2. Has 4.0 been released on O2 handsets yet?

    Thanks for reading,

    Dave

I don't think O2 are getting the Nexus, open to correction.

4.0 hasn't been released for the Galaxy S2 yet, it's expected within the next month though. There are some ICS based ROMs out but the Nexus is the better experience, having owned both phones.

    Cheers for the reply Dave,

If they ain't getting the Nexus ill just tell him to go with the GS2, they have been pestering him since before Xmas to upgrade and I was saying to wait and get the Nexus, the lad in the shop said wait til February... as did I... he will only buy what I tell him is the best one to get!

To be honest he isn't really all that tech-savvy, yet he likes having a beast of a phone... he probably does not even know what an app is!

A trusty Nokia 5110 would probably suit better.... :p

He's a mechanic by trade so normally phones don't last all that long in his work environment, but since I got him a cool case for it that phone it has lasted him over a year now, which seems a first! :D

He currently has an Nokia X8 so has gotten used to a touchscreen, so as an Android lover my next step is to get him onboard with a dacent OS!

    Hi,

Sorry to hijack this thread. I'm thinking of buying the Galaxy S2 but it's still got the gingerbread software (I live in Sydney). If I buy the S2 now will I be able to update the software to Ice Cream Sandwich when Samsung release it around March 2012?

The phone shop have said yes, but are there likely to be glitches. It will be the same phone but different firmware, so I should be able to do it?

    Right?
