Just wondering if someone could give me a rough idea of price on this … The dial to turn one of the radiators in my apartment broke off last week. Now I'm not talking about the little plastic covering, I mean the little metal bit that the plastic part attaches too ( descriptions are very technical aren't they !! ) The plastic part has come off most of the radiators but if I even need to turn them off or on, I'd use a spanner but this time the bit that I'd turn with the spanner is stuck inside the plastic casing. Is it a big job to replace that fitting ??

Do you turn the rads on/off a good bit? You should probably consider upgrading the valves to TRV's.

No its not a massive job to replace one valve, but if others are giving issues, best replace as many as you can, while the system is drained down etc...

As always make sure to get a few quotes for the work before going ahead.
