Is it just me or are these yolks in the desert a bit annoying. Not feeling well today so that could be it.

But the advertisment boards on the fairways.

    The desert wind.

    Sand everywhere.

    A bank sponsoring it.

Maybe a Uniflu and a bit of bed is needed. :(

It does , but just nicer tracksuits.

It is poor, and the sky commentators are a bit like Jeremy , talking up the story.

Well get back to work, or watch Jeremy Kyle or Eurotrash Tour.

Would you rather there were no ET events to watch at this time of year?? They are a hell of a lot better than the mickey mouse tournaments from South Africa.

I agree SA ones are rubbish too. How about a break and no golf. Keep Euro Tour in Europe. That means real tournaments in Europe are not at risk to poor tournaments like this getting sponsorship.

There is nobody even watching it at the course, it is a sell out by Euro Tour. Call it as it is.

No real golf fans at these things, all expats on a junket.

This would be great but not many countries in Europe can afford to host Euro Tour events. Hence why at the start and end of the year it goes to places like the middle east and Asia.

I think the European Tour has an obligation to support Europe.

Ok if it is a novelty , but it is gone too far, the tour starts and ends outside europe. Crazy Stuff. It is getting as bad as the Football.

And here comes The European Tour, sponsered by a bank in the desert in a sand storm.

They should bring back the fags sponsorship..;)
The snooker and the racing gone to the dogs without it...

Quite a few players (McIlroy, Westwood and ors) have said that it's a good thing, because generally (excuse the sandstorm today) the weather is good there at this time of year, when it's not great in Europe (people actually dying of the cold), and because of the weather it allows them get some well tuned practice in before the real season starts in March/April.

I thought the golf last weekend was great. McIlroy also has his first victory in one these, Dubai Desert Classic on 1 February 2009. So all in all I think, yeah, why not, let them play golf in the desert.

    It's Qatar,highlights on at 7 on SS3.

I personally prefer the pre-season golf opposed to the post season stuff, at least the lads are giving it 100% trying to get in gear for the Masters. The stuff before xmas was a bit meh, a lot of the players were pure wrecked and only hanging for the break.

I take it all back the Euro tour is class.

Just watched a load of drunk corporate heads at the 16th booing a tee shot. Then a player giving out hats on the 16. What the hell is this thing.

I can't take it. I'm going to bed. The Greatest Game ever played, detroyed by TV and flashing adverts and crazy commentators.

I tell you one thing, the Ryder Cup will not be fun next time, ugly is the word. Now a pink driver.

"My head , my head ". It is like a kids game on PS3.

Now Polter, I swear, the lads who went shoplifting looked like him. "My head , my head ".

I'm old and old fashioned , give me back our old game.

As for Sky , "My Head , My Head"

    Lemsip needed.

Rant Over , "My Head, My Head".

Was watching the highlights yesterday evening. The conditions were close to farcical - from some camera shots it looked like it was raining there was so much sand being blown around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,184 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

You would expect a sand storm i guess.

Being Irish, I guess we can't say anything about weather, our golf tournaments the last ten years have been a wash out. As for the Ryder Cup, we like to think it was great. It was sad how wet it was.

    Down to 54 holes.

Should all 2nd round scores be cancelled to be fair to everyone.

I know mcgrane is doing well but we need to take off the green glasses.
