Windows virtual pc query

    Hi,

    I'm not very up on computer programming etc., so sorry if im asking thick questions.

    but I had some trouble the other day with a program that wouldn't install (AutoCAD), I.T. Solved the problem by downloading the 64bit after some panic.

    So after that I was looking into why it wouldn't work and possible fixes, little bit of googling basically, I came across windows virtual pc.

    The system I'm running is this;
    8gb DDR ram
    500gb hard drive
    Intel core i3 processor
    Windows 7
    It's a Sony vaio if that helps.

    Not sure about the rest of its details off hand, but if I was to get the Windows virtual pc installed is it going to slow down the laptop?

    as I may need to get more programs transfered and rather going through all the hassle of getting the programs to run, it could be installed as usual.

    Will the programs be any faster than on a 32bit laptop?

    What's the opinion, pros/cons of using windows virtual pc?

    VPC should only consume the resources you assign to each VM, thats my understanding of it anyway. i only use VMs for testing programmes/batch files, nothing like CAD which i thought would need some decent processing power, so i have mine set to minimum requirments for each OS

    Most virtualisation software wont support any decent form of 3D graphics emulation, so even though your fine with the RAM and CPU, that will likely cause a major problem running CAD.
