Hi I was just looking for advice as what to do about this I went to a tax office today to tax a commercial vechicle for the first time.I produced all the paper work that they had requested and was issued with a tax disc. I received a phone call shortly after leaving from the supervisor i was told that my disc was to be cancelled .i was told that because I am not self employed . I argued that I am an employee that I use my vechicle to travel to and from work and for carrying my tools and had a letter to state that from my employer. I also had my p60 showing that I have paid income tax. I was then shown my goods only declaration form, I had not filled in my income tax registration number. I said I don't have one possibly I made a mistake there should I have just put down my pps number. The tax disc was cancelled and I received a refund. It seems that there is different criteria in each tax office. What should I do now . I should clarify after the phone call I went back to the office

if you still have the tax disc stick it in the window and pretend nothing happened

They took it back it would have been void if I left it on
