NCT expired Jan 2011

    My car requires an NCT every year but it expired Jan 2011 and ive still to renew it. what will happen when i go for the test now? will it be back dated and ill have to get 2 done or could they refuse to do a test? someone told me the NCT centre could fine me, is this true?

    No, that's all incorrect info.
    If you go to NCT centre now, you will get a cert valid until January 2013.
    If you don't do it now, and go for NCT on November this year or later, you will get a cert valid until January 2014.

    Get it tested now would be the best advice. You will now get a cert to January 2013. No 2 tests, no fines from NCT people.

    Does the 3 month early test apply when you dont have a valid cert? or do they issue a 2 or 3 month cert up to anniversary date?

    Of course.
    It's irrelevant if you have a valid test or not.
    Due date will be on January 2013, so you can do a test 3 months earlier, and get a cert valid until January 2014.
