Attic Insulation

    Folks, can I have your thought's on this. Having a debate in work !!

    39meter square of 300mm quilt insulation to the attic
    then
    15meter square of rigid board and then OSB boards on top to walk on.
    all pipes and tanks done aswell..

    costing me €1000. good or bad ?

    That's a fair bit of work but how thick is the insulation on the rigid board?

    The rigid boards are 70mm will meet the top of the joist.and then the OSB boards placed and screwed on top. for walking/storage etc

    €1000 is on the high side for 39sq m + 15 sq m as described. I am a BER assessor and see the quotes for this type of work. I just found a quote for the attic of a 90sq m dormer bungalow with this type of work done for €662 + VAT. Now they did the walls as well for a further €1100 so they would have discounted the attic insulation price a bit.

    are they supplying.if so thats a good price
