Low hot water pressure/flow from taps

    Hi everyone,

I have an issue with the hot water pressure/flow from my bath and kitchen taps... the water comes out at a bit more than a dribble and it takes around 45 mins to run a bath! To confuse me further, the tap for the sink seems to put out hot and cold at roughly the same 'speed'.

I have a cold tank in the loft and a hot water tank directly below it in the hot press. Does anyone have any suggestions for what may be wrong or how to increase the water speed?

    Thanks
    S

is the cold mains drinking water at the kitchen.poor pressure also?It could be a case your stop cock needs to be adjusted to allow more pressure to fill your tank in the attic. To give you a bigger supply from the tank to feed the domestic supplies and it will also increase your mains water at the sink.

    Hi Marcanthony,

The cold water pressure in the kitchen from the mains is great. The mains stop cock valve in the house is fully open. The cold water for the bath, gravity feed is good, far better than the hot water.

Sorry, I'm a total plumbing beginner... I dont understand, what are spindles? Will washer replacements fix the flow in both the kitchen and bathroom taps?

Have you replaced your taps recently.... It sounds like you have high pressure taps. The reason the cold is working is its mains but i bet the cold upstairs is poor and the spindle on the shower head might not stay up.

Tell us more and perhaps a couple of photo's....of the taps not you :)
