Davey Daniels is calling on Waterford to become a free wifi area. He says it will aid tourism. I dunno about that but I always though that wifi everywhere surely couldn't be too far away...can it be done in Waterford?

If London can manage it, so can Waterford.

If it can be done in Norwich (which I think is the first UK city to get it) anyone can do it.

Remember this is Waterford, I wonder how much the council will charge to use the free wifi?

No need to have it city wide, but you could easily do it in key places (red square, Bishops Palace, Apple Market etc).

I think it'd be a great idea. If we could manage to be the first city in Ireland, it'd be something to set us apart.

Especially if combined with some sort of Layar app.

    They'll be graaaaaaand. ha

Seriously though it would be a major plus for the city.

Note to self: bring this idea to New Ross Town Council.......

They'd break it in new Ross. Or find a way to burn it down somehow.

........too mean.........even if it is true......

there would be certain undesireables who may do damage to it

They might drink it..or sniff it...or try and smoke it..

They should 100% bring it into Templars Hall. That way the students will stay in their darkened rooms watching seedy porno rather than go out causing trouble.

So which cafes and pubs currently offer free wifi in the city centre?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭wellboytoo

Its a good proposal in fairness limited to the centre of the city or Viking triangle it is something to aim for and the right manager is there to make it happen if he takes it on board
