    Hello,
I am one of those guys who will never exercise on my own unless I have an appointment with a PT.
I am very big and heavy so I need to start with walking and some basic exercises (outside or parks / no gym) - I have a long way to go so plenty of challenge for me and the right coach.
Looking for 2 or 3 sessions a week after work.
Could be 6:30 around Harcourt road/ Saint Stephen's green or later around Kilmainham.

Dont hesitate to recomend somebody, and if you are a PT PM me.

    thanks

I've been working with James Hanley (http://jameshanleyie.wordpress.com/contact/) for the last two months or so and delighted with the service. Reasonable prices too. He posts on here a lot also.

    Best of luck with it

I don't know if Rathmines is too far away for you but my Personal Trainer is amazing, and she works out of here. I've seen some great resutls, lost over 7" in my hips since November.

I know you said no to gyms, but I'm in Raw and the PT's in there are good and they may go off site for you, worth calling though. There are about 4-5 Anthony Lynch, Simon Reck (on FB too), James Kelly all very good as well as the others.
Best of luck in the new program too, stick with it and you will see results.

Personal trainers? Is this madness still going on. You know what to do yourself. Stop eating and exercise! Don't be paying these spoofers.

I found it good when i started exercising, they aren't for long term, meet them 5 days a week kinda stuff, but they can motivate you a bit more, introduce new exercises and techinques.

Perhaps you might benefit from a personal trainer, they might impart the wisdom to you that it is never a good idea to advise someone to stop eating:)

I reckon that without my PT i would not be anywhere near my physique goals and my diet would not be as clean as it is, my PT has also saved me money with a "less is more" approach to supplements, getting a PT is possibly one of the best moves i have made in the last 10 years. So yes the madness is still going on...and its paying off big time...........for both trainer and client!!

You'd probably get 1-3x weekly session with a PT for around the same price as most people would spend on a hard drinking session on a friday/saturday.

A lot of people could afford it, they choose to put their priorities elsewhere. Which is perfectly ok like! :)

I just don't get why someone has to hold your hand. If one was self- motivated they could afford their few pints as well rather than paying these chancers.

Because busy people making lots of money short on time don't want to research the best and most effective methods into getting in shape, so they pay someone to do it for them.

In much the same way you'd pay anyone for a service that you want to benefit from but not have to spend your precious time learning about.

Of course the industry is full of absolute chancers but there is a few truly outstanding PTs around at the moment who are well worth the money.

    Thanks all for participating.
@ Rookster thanks for your concern for my spending money. I am old enough to know myself well and if i had the will power to do any other way i would have done it a long time ago. I push myself very hard on the job where I have huge responsibilities and I guess i need to feel like a passenger at times when I am off.

It's not even about motivation. I don't need any help getting to the gym, I love to exercise but it's a p.t's knowledge and experience I'm after, someone who will do me up a great programme and show me how to do the exercises.
Hope you find someone good op

I am reviving this thread as I had to put the project aside for a while. What i need if for someone to be fully focused on me (real one on one sessions) for a couple of hours per week. I got quoted rates of 60€ per hour and although i think that could suit some individuals with very specific goals in mind I find it very expensive. My sister in Spain gets one on one training at 15 euros per hour with a lad that has won many fitness competitions. Some aspects of life are more expensive in Ireland but hey 4 times the rate seems a bit dear. I am curious to know how much the readers of this forum are paying at this stage.

Are you for real? I'm just curious because if a PT was to spend say, half an hour, travelling to meet you, he/she would be netting less than minimum wage if they were working for 15 euro an hour.

Well at that rate she goes to the gym where the PT works. The 60€ per hour i got quoted was for meeting the PT at his gym where he trains all his customers, so no comute to come meet me.
