I'm listening to my Junior Minister talking about our mods being the preemptive Judge for the internet.

My god.... what have we as a country become.

Does anyone have a link to a video of this debate or where I would find it?

To be fair to us too, we are fighting for the protection of the little "boards's's" to grow up to compete with us.

We're probably too big to harrass (cos we'll squeal blue murder, and with all those name-checks in the Dail, the "optics" would be awful..... God how I hate that phrase btw).

Sweet - does this mean we can only have our taxes increased in times of national criss?!

True N, but this guff if implemented will likely have effects beyond any politics forum. If only it was confined to that.

Yea well I'm on that list too PD. Yep. We're boned. Duck and cover folks, duck and cover...

Already emailed all of them via contact.ie, definitely email local representatives to tell them none of them are getting a preference that support/don't actively oppose this.

It's been three very bad weeks for the government - Shorthall and her nanny state heath-disguised alcohol increases, Varadkar and his 'bombs going off', Kenny schmoozing up to Sarkozy and saying 'You are not to blame' at home but 'You will pay' abroad, Phil Hogan now doing a full U-turn on incineration in Poolbeg, despite announcing in oppostion 12 months ago that he was totally against incineration and is more for job creation from recycling industry.

And now Sherlock talking down to us about a topic he knows dam all about. With the civil servants around him, advising him on the internet when half of them need to call IT Support to install a new feckin' keyboard.

The optimism I had after the elections this time last year is well and truly spent at this stage by the cynical policies of FG/Lab and if these gobsh1tes carry on in this vein I'm seriously thinking of emigrating in early 2013.

Hopefully D, but will the average Sean Q Voter even notice? The catchment area of Joe Duffy, Tubridy and previously Gerry Ryan types? The "Jaysus I can see me cousin on Facebook/Skype" users? The day to day mass of people who watch the world go by and don't know nor care how it goes by? Look how empty the chamber of the Dail has been throughout all of this "debate". I parenthesise debate as it's hardly worthy of the term given what's at stake. Sadly there seems to me to be too much "meh" in the wider world. What can we, all of us actually do to change the direction of this? Frankly I'm game for anything at this stage as I can see it doing real damage to our future IT prospects as a nation.

Supreme court challenge should do the trick if anyone's got the readies. Start a registered charity fund to pay for it maybe like that SSF thing? I'll chip in!

More I was getting at that he sounded as if we were the political forum for Ireland which isn't the case really. It's a duopoly at best for us.

Does this mean I can create a restraining order to keep Sherlock 500m from the Internet at all times?

Should we get all Mods taglines changed to that?

P.ie is the political nutters' forum for Ireland. B.ie is the political forum for Ireland.

    A minor but important difference...
