Possible C.V problem.

    Really hoping someone can help me out here as ive applied for a good few jobs with no luck(although employed at the moment),I am worried that there is something up with the C.V due to the fact im getting rejection Emails for jobs im perfect for,I was told today to save the document as a PDF file rather than the doc.x file its saved as now,would that help at all? All suggestions will be really appreciated thanks.

    pdf is more professional

    but most jobs are about making contact
    follow up with a call or even preclude it with a call

    Areas to look at would be spelling and grammar, formatting and your descriptions of roles. You could talk to a recruiter, they will often help with CV formatting.

    Mailed it to a friend today who knows a thing or 2 and she told me the format wasnt working so she changed it and mailed it back,very annoyed at the amount of jobs ive applied for and end up looking like a gob****e who cant save a file properly :mad:

    avoid docx files

    at the very least save it as .doc

    PDF is way better again as it preserves everything so they way you see it is how empoyers see it

    With .docx files, if someone (quite a lot still!) has word 2003 or earlier, it will be converted into .doc format by removing any formatting that is exclusive to the .docx format, therefore how you see it before you send it is NOT how the recipient sees it. It could look like the biggest pile of poop by the time its opened
