boot lock actuator repair

took mine off my passat today as boot lid would not lock,i opened it up and found you can pull it out but it will not push in again. someone said these can be repaired, i wonder can they??? thanks

Is this the small white plunger type part?

If so they are cheap enough new from VW.

they are €38 new but selling the car and just wondering if they can be repaired
