complicated - help needed

    I currently earn €48k per year and my wife earns €26k.

    From reading other posts it seems it would have been better for us to be taxed as a couple so i think thats what we will do.

    However my wifes job is finished today and she is going to apply for jobseekers. If we started to claim as a couple will this affect her chances.

    Also if she were to fall pregnant in the future without returning to work will she be entlited to any benefits.

    I have tried getting infomation from the revenue site but its not very straight forward

    That's because you are looking in the wrong place for benefits advice. Revenue look after the taxes side of things. The DSP look after your PRSI related benefits.
