nice problem to have - getting a new car and have to decide between either the ix 35 (small SUV/jeep type) or the i 40 saloon or tourer (estate). I am inclined to go for the tourer - think its a stylish motor and seems to have a high spec. my other half likes the high driving position of the ix35 and easier to park etc., but i think the boot is a bit small. its a company car so bik will be an issue - will probably go for the basic model of whatever car we agree on. a nice problem i admit but myself and other half cannot agree on which. we have done the test drives etc just wondering what others think?

Had an i40 tourer in earlier in the year and was pretty impressed. Haven't seen an ix35 up close so can't comment on that.

BIK difference between a Comfort and Exec model in the i40 tourer will only be about €16 a month (cost to you) so I'd go for the Exec if it's in budget.

Hi, I have the I40 Tourer for the last 5 months and its a nice car to own and travel in. The space of the estate format is great and once you get used to having such a big opening boot door compared to a saloon you'll never go back, for that reason I'd opt for the Tourer. The IX35 will be in a higher tax bracket, use more fuel, be less comfortable and have a lot less space, to be honest it's hard to compare the I40 to the IX35, they are so different and if you wanted a 4x4 version (lower priced ones are 2 wheel drive) it'd be expensive. Look closely at the specifications of the I40, the basic (Comfort) really is basic, for about €2k extra the Executive adds a lot of kit that you would expect in the car. My preference of the 3 is the I40 Tourer Executive but if you wanted to save a little then the Executive Saloon would be a better bet than the Comfort Tourer for similar money.
